Blog Assignment 4- Protests In Egypt

Recently we discussed the current events going in Egypt and why they are occurring. In at least 5 sentences explain to me what is happening to Egypt, how would you compare and contrast(how is it alike and how is it different) it to the American Revolution, and give me your opinion on if the U.S. should get involved or not. Remember this: we discussed how President Muburak has been an American ally for 31 years but also has taken away many rights of the Egyptian people. Don't forget to put your full name at the end of the comment.

  1. I think it's related to the American Revolution because they want President Mubarak to get out of authority just like the Continentals wanted the King out of authority. I think it's different because there isn't anyone on Mubarak's side in Egypt. I think that the U.S. shouldn't get involved because if we do then we may be making major dissisions for Egypt that they may not want us to make. Since Mubarak his an ally of the U.S. and he supports and helps Israel, I think that he should just come out of the house of Representatives and let a new president be elected.

  2. The Egyptian people protested against their president, because they thought that he had too much power over their country. They wanted a democratic society. This is like the American Revolution because just like the Egyptians fought for their freedom, we the American people fought for our freedom against the British. The Egyption situation is different because it did not take as long and not as many people died. I do not think we should get involved unless they elect someone that is bad and wants to hurt us.

The Egyptian people were protesting against President Mubrak because he was becoming a dictator.I think this is related to the American Revolution because the want there freedom.I dont think that the u.s. should get involved.I think this because we are already in war,we dont need any more trouble and this is none of our buisness. The Egyptian people should take care of this themselves and handle their own country

  5. For 31 years people have had many of their rights taken away, and the people are now protesting. The situation in Egypt is similer to the American Revolution because in both cases people were treated unfairly. On the other hand in the Revolution the people started war , and in Egypt it is just protests. Even though President Mubarak is Americas ally he is the one taking rights away and causing the problem. America should not be helping someone who is taking the rights away from his own people.

  6. Many Egypt people are getting mad at thier leader. The president will step down but not emitily. I think whats happening in Egypt is like the American Revolution. I feel like the Egypt people are like the rebels and the leader is like the British. I think the u.s should get a little involed.

  7. There was a small battle in Egypt between the rebels and the dictator, Muburak. The rebels wanted to elect a president. They also wanted more peace and more freedom. This battle is like the American Revolution because it is a fight for freedom. I do not think we should get involve with the fighting because this is Egypts own country.

  8. Many people in Egypt want their leader President Mubarak out of office. He was becoming a dictator and all the citizens of Egypt wanted freedom. I think this is like the American Revolution in a way because Americans did not want to be dictated.

  10. The Egyptian Revolution is different from the American Revolution because it is not really a war & they have modernized weapons so they are more scary. It is the same because they are fighting for the same reason, freedom & rights. The U.S. should not get involved, they can handle it. President Mubarak should definetely step down. Everyone in Egypt hates him & his life is on the line w/ threats of assasination.
